My entry for the Penguin Book Cover Competition 2022.
"Girl, Woman, Other is the eighth novel by Bernardine Evaristo. Published in 2019 by Hamish Hamilton, it follows the lives of 12 characters in the United Kingdom over the course of several decades. The book was the co-winner of the 2019 Booker Prize."
I loved this book and I was really inspired by the way Evaristo wrote so many characters and their different points of view that felt completely cohesive and brilliantly connected. All their personal stories working together to create this one book. So from that I decided to present the 12 characters building the title. Using bright colours to represent the vibrancy and spectrum of personalities explored within the book.
